MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL DESIGN WEEK

Melbourne International Design Week aims to highlight the role of design as a catalyst for innovation, linking creativity with business, technology and society. The public program, a Victorian Government initiative is curated and managed by Ideas on Design, showcasing the best across a broad spectrum of disciplines including built environment, communication, product and industrial, digital and interactive and strategic design. This annual week-long program targets a broad audience including designers, businesses, schools and the general public, treating them to an impressive and unique line-up of high profile Australian and international designers, exhibitions, events, and workshops, intended to inspire, educate and bring opportunities for global connections. Events are delivered to build design capability and raise awareness about the benefits of design for improved standards of living and increased economic prosperity. Leveraged off a series of landmark events and delivered via the Ideas on Design brand, MIDW offers world-class programs that recognise how design can make a difference to our standard of living and challenge the perception and interpretation of good design practice.  The extended MIDW program focuses on collaboration and is developed in conjunction with multiple partners including major cultural institutions, local councils, universities, design associations and the broader design, and business community.

Melbourne presents Melbourne Lights Up! at Dubai Design Week with curatorial support from Anne-Maree Sargeant of Snap Collective, an internationally recognised design consultant, journalist and curator. MIDW's stand will be built by Grand Designs Dubai with support from Taubman's paint.
